” Through their love, encouragement, strength, and sternness, I was the first of six children to receive a four-year college degree. It is my desire that I continue their passion as advocates for higher education through my faithful work in the community and my aspiration to “do the right thing” because it’s the right thing to do. ”

After I completed high school in 2019, I did not know what the next step of my life would be like. I was not sure if I was ready to further my education. After weeks of thought and research, I decided I wanted to take my education to the next level. After making that decision I pondered how I would finance my transition into a university. Fortunately for me, Progressive Baptist church gave me the support that I needed. I was really surprised to get such a scholarship from the church family. This scholarship helped me to be able to start college at The University of North Texas at Dallas without having to worry about financial obligations such as dorm fees and registration. There is a saying that goes “Little drops of water makes a mighty ocean” Progressive Baptist church gave that little drop and now I am proud to say I will be graduating at the end of the spring semester. May 9th, 2023.
Thank you to the L.D. Williams Scholarship fund and Progressive Baptist Church.
I am very grateful and thankful to receive this scholarship. It has help with college necessities such as supplies for my courses and dormitory needs. I’m truly appreciative. Thanks
